Sealed boxes are the simplest of all models of car audio speakers, consisting of an air volume and the car audio speaker or driver. There are two basic types of systems closed box, infinite baffle and acoustic suspension.
caraudio
An infinite baffle car audio speaker enclosure is made large enough respect for the air in the cabinet are higher than mechanical suspension woofer own membership. So in other words woofer uses its own suspension to control the cone. There are not many infinite baffle (IB) drivers around today because it seems manufacturers have taken the approach that most people want smaller boxes. As drivers of type IB tend to be higher Q drivers who will not give an answer as a good transit.
An acoustic suspension, or suspension in the air has a volume of air in the enclosure that is smaller than the fulfillment of the woofers suspension. The elasticity of air in the enclosure has a much greater effect on the mechanical suspension woofer woofer itself. Then the woofer cone is essentially suspended in the air of the room. Which is closer, striking the answer, but the response of lower cutoff frequency of the car audio speaker.
The point of mounting a car audio speaker in a box is the control response characteristics. The method aims to measure and align Q [The ratio of reactance to resistance in a series circuit or the ratio of resistance to reactance in a parallel circuit].
Certain values of [Q driver and the total closure] QTc prolongation is a specific response characteristics, which can be characterized as follows:
QTc = 0.5 dampened transient perfect critic.
QTc = 0.707 Butterworth response with maximum amplitude below the cutoff.
QTc> 0.707 Chebyshev response equal wave response, power handling and efficiency.
QTc = 0.5 are generally considered too narrow and more tempered by some standards, however, still consider this to be the optimal value.
Now that we have established the differences between the two types of boxes and the characteristics of Q, there is still something I mean when considering the design of a sealed box. This is known as the "golden ratio". Using the ration of gold reduce panel vibration and resonance of the bass box. The ratio is the cube root of the fixed frame size in inches (x1), (x.7939), (x1.2599)
For example, if your internal volume in cubic inches or 1.25 must be 2160 m ^ ^
Take the cube root of 2160 (12.927) and multiply by 1 for side A
A = 12.927
For the B side A side multiplied by 0.7939
B = 10.263
To increase page A to page C 1.2599
C = 16.286
To check AxBxC multiply page and you should get one in the 2160th
If you decide to use one of the many programs available on the Internet, this ratio is already calculated, or is an optional feature in the program.
You should only use the best materials available in the construction of your box car audio speaker. พ "MDF is recommended for nearly all 10" and 12" car audio subwoofer applications. Applications bandpass double or double sealed 5 / 8" MDF is recommended. Internal bracing must be used on longer spans and should be subtracted from the interior volume. Glue of high quality timber is required for all sessions and is expected to grow when screwed. Coarse thread drywall screws were less inclined to isolate. Use a screw at least twice the length of the thickness of your material, and always pre-drill the holes to drown a professional appearance and durability. Silicone can be used on the inner corners to ensure an airtight container. If silicone spray glue, superglue, or especially (for garnish) are applied, at least 2 hours to dry and ventilate as some chemicals that will cloud the finish of your car audio speakers or Plexiglas.
Here are some recommended products that I found very useful in the construction of the car audio speaker:
Rasp a carpenter or amateur (to round the edges or cut)
Round-wheel-type cut with a razor blade
Titebond wood glue or Loctite
3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive
